Delve into the past of the Château de la Groirie
History of a 17th-century castle
Heir to a rich past, the Château de la Groirie reveals its origins in the 17th century, marked in particular by the turmoil of the Vendée Wars, commemorated by a plaque.
The elegant residence today embodies all the refinement of classical French architecture. Listed as historical monuments, the enfilade of reception rooms and the majestic staircase have been restored with exceptional care. But it is the park and its English and French gardens that will truly capture your attention. The sundial, a majestic and rare sculpture dating from the 17th century, is one of the must-see features.
About twenty years ago, captivated by the grandeur of the place, the current owners undertook a meticulous restoration, respectful of the estate's soul. Today, the Château de la Groirie combines living heritage and high-end hospitality, in a preserved green setting.
While guests stay in the elegantly restored outbuildings, the family lives in the heart of the château, perpetuating a tradition of French hospitality and art de vivre. The outbuildings and common areas were already welcoming guests in the 17th century!
The history of the Château is intertwined with that of the family and the guests who stay there!
